We went to the main resort at Oil Nut Bay back in 2018 after one of the hurricanes. It was a blast. We are coming back to the BVIs in June 2025. Has anyone overnighted at the marina at Oil Nut Bay? Worth while?

We usually spend a night there on every trip. Depending on the day of the week and the time of the year it can be moderately busy or you can have the place to yourself. They tend to have some of the best food and drinks of any of our stops and service is always top notch from both the dockhands and the wait staff. Had a great time on Superbowl sunday last year when the place was packed. I would also recommend getting a tour of the property especially if Dobbs is around.

We have visited Nova frequently and tried the $$ day pass last year, but I've never stayed overnight on a ball in Deep Bay. Even though the reef limits the fetch, I find the bay so open to the wind to be uninviting for an overnight.

EDIT: my comments refer to the mooring field, OP was perhaps spending night at the dock.

In 2021 the Marina was closed due to Covid and off-season but they were permitting marina guests to use the main facilities and that was great. Night on the dock was fine but getting docked was a bit of a challenge. We were backing in with a fairly strong east wind off our starboard bow. I just couldn't get the bow to kick around even with bow thrusters. One of the very helpful dock crew jumped into our dinghy and used it as a tug boat to push the bow around.

We had a great swim and dinner at the main facility but that access got shut down in subsequent years. However the marina looks like a pretty good substitute.

The docks up here are less protected generally than BEYC for sure. They can be a bit rolly (especially when windy), but they are not bad on an average BVI day.

We now have 20 mooring balls in Deep Bay (10 FCFC, 10 reservable BoatyBalls), but transparently they have never come even close to all filling up so you would be able to grab one anytime you want.

If it's blowing more than 20knots, it would be a long and wetish ride in the dinghy from the mooring field to Marina Village. Less than that, and you should be pretty comfy.

The Marina Village has the restaurant Nova, swimming pool and overwater hammocks. There is also a coffee shop and boutique shopping. And Deep Bay Watersports which does e-foil lessons and rentals. Also, the snorkeling in Eustatia Sound is pretty awesome if I do say so myself. Grab a slip, head out in the dinghy, and explore the reef.

Finally, Day Passes are also available to spend the day at the private Oil Nut Bay Beach Club. Day Passes are $195/person per day for adults, and $95/person per day for kids under 13.

I am going to be there next Friday. Would you say that the morning balls are generally less rolly then staying in the dock? I’m trying to decide which one we want to do there

Yes, I would say that generally. Come say hi! I'm Dobbs and will be in the Real Estate office at Nova.

VGR....Anything to do there for families? We will be down over the holidays with the kids and wondering if ONB should be on our list of spots to check out? Kids are 13, 11 and 7.

Usually spend a few days at BEYC since they have so many wonderful activities for families. Thanks.

-The pool here at Nova is obviously always a big hit with the kids
-Over water hammocks to jump off and a water trampoline to enjoy
-Billards table and foosball table
-Visit the ONB animal rescue park and feed the horses and emus
-Take an efoil lesson with BVI E-Foils
