We went to the main resort at Oil Nut Bay back in 2018 after one of the hurricanes. It was a blast. We are coming back to the BVIs in June 2025. Has anyone overnighted at the marina at Oil Nut Bay? Worth while?

We usually spend a night there on every trip. Depending on the day of the week and the time of the year it can be moderately busy or you can have the place to yourself. They tend to have some of the best food and drinks of any of our stops and service is always top notch from both the dockhands and the wait staff. Had a great time on Superbowl sunday last year when the place was packed. I would also recommend getting a tour of the property especially if Dobbs is around.

We have visited Nova frequently and tried the $$ day pass last year, but I've never stayed overnight on a ball in Deep Bay. Even though the reef limits the fetch, I find the bay so open to the wind to be uninviting for an overnight.

EDIT: my comments refer to the mooring field, OP was perhaps spending night at the dock.

In 2021 the Marina was closed due to Covid and off-season but they were permitting marina guests to use the main facilities and that was great. Night on the dock was fine but getting docked was a bit of a challenge. We were backing in with a fairly strong east wind off our starboard bow. I just couldn't get the bow to kick around even with bow thrusters. One of the very helpful dock crew jumped into our dinghy and used it as a tug boat to push the bow around.

We had a great swim and dinner at the main facility but that access got shut down in subsequent years. However the marina looks like a pretty good substitute.
