Chartering in June for the first time - we usually sail in March. What differences will we find (beyond temp!)? Places better to hit or avoid at that time? Any info or advice specific to summer vs early spring?

We like early June or late May best. The water is warmer, and it is a little less crowded. But the usual places are open. There is a little less high wind in our experience, but we have never encountered a north swell at that time. The air temperature is also warmer (however with AC that's not an issue, and we survived no AC our first time in early June).
Of course we aren't very experienced, but have been in January, March and May/June a few times. So perhaps others can correct me.
I'd say you don't need to change plans much between March and June.

Thanks! I thought we might be there before things start closing, but wondered if establishment hours were shortened at that time. A few of us will be happier with higher air & water temps.

We are going the first part of July. It is nice that time of year. Hopefully not too many places are closed.

We are late May, early June regulars (will be there again 6/4 - 6/14 this year). We still have school aged children, and so that time of year aligns with the start of summer vacation down here in Florida. During our early June trips over the years, we have encountered lots of other families on charter with their kids. So much so that it has been fairly crowded on many occasions. It won't be busy like peak season is, but recent years have been considerably busier than 10 years ago, in our experience.
The good news is that most all establishments are still open in June, and operating on "normal" hours. That said, I would still recommend calling ahead to make reservations at most (if not all) places you want to have dinner. Some places (Foxy's Taboo, B-Line, establishments in Little Harbor, JVD, and others) will close early or choose not to open for dinner if they don't have expected reservations.
Overall, though, we love this time of year. We have rarely had any weather-related issues, and the wind has consistently been a delightful 13-17 out of the East.
Have a fantastic time.

Nothing really closes until 1 August. Everything is open in June. The only real issue is crowds as there is an increase in charters as school lets out. In fact it’s the busy time off the off season.
