excellent Carol! I have tried here in NJ and it was a big flop... too much clay & shale...
I have grown it on LI, mostly sand & topsoil... it did really well there, but didn't look good on the property, as it's on the beach... so I stopped growning it about 20 years ago...
Looks a lot better with all lawn going to the beach...
and at $20 a Bu. (about 6 dozen ears)... corn is too cheap out there anyway to be bothered...

This year all the ears are short, about 6-8", due to all the rain we've had this spring & summer...
Best ones are the "bread & butter" corn... white & yellow mixed kernels...
