Headed for the bus terminal around 9 AM. The direct bus didn’t leave till 12 PM. There is an earlier bus but it has A LOT of STOPS. The busses are always full so get your ticket at least an hour in advance. The ticket will have your seating assignments. The bus was a Mercedes, has AC that wasn’t used and a toilet that was closed. The first 2 hours are on hair pin turns up and down mountains. 45 KM before Quepos the bus stops at a little store/restaurant that is for bathroom break and supplies. Most people went straight for the Alka Seltzer. This trip is NOT for the faint of stomach. The rest of the trip was on fairly flat land. Past Quepos and was dropped off at the end of the route at the Manual Antonio hotel which we booked a room with no reservations ( $68 inc taxes) Beautiful beach area with vendors and restaurants. If you decide to come here we were fore warned BUY BUG SPRAY. And we did thankfully.

Lots of buses and taxis to take you back to Quepos for the nightlife. (200 colones PP or can do a taxi for $3000 colones net for the Quepos trip, same prices for the return) Bus runs every ½ hour till 7:30 and every hour till 9:30.
Ate dinner at a restaurant close to the hotel , can’t remember the name, but the food was tasteless, mine and the wifes. Did a few happy hours. Anyhow cleaned up and went to Bambu Jam that was suggested (kinda reminded me of the old Dawn beach hotel). We watched the transformation from a restaurant crowd to the dance crowd. And boy did they get busy. The drummer was the singer and he was great. The building had the tall thatched roof and debarked trees for main support. Had a real Caribbean flair.

There is a 8 KM stretch between Quepos and Manuel Antonio beach and it is lined with restaurants. Always loved the vertical shining lights on the palm trees near the road. Kinda of reminded me of some of the restaurants in Cayman
