Trip Report August 1-8, 2024

Quick details:
1. TMM is great charter company. After chartering through The Moorings, Sunsail, and Dream Yacht Charters, TMM is head and shoulders better then all three.
2. The 45’ catamaran we chartered, SaraLin, was amazing! It had so many personal items that made it feel like home immediately-like small plastic baskets in kitchen that made perfect place for things like clothes pins (provided) and sunscreen.
3. Itinerary: Norman Island, Cooper Island, Saba Rock (Virgin Gorda), Anegada, Cane Garden Bay, Jost Van Dyke, Marina Cay, Trellis Bay.

Complete trip summary:
July 31: Arrive at dock, stay on boat. Dinner at The Pub-nice first night dinner-walking distance from TMM dock

Day 1: Check out boat with Marty (very knowledgeable). Then head snorkel the Indians and the Caves—amazing snorkeling at the caves. Then on to Norman Island for first night. Dinner on board, then to Willie Ts for drinks (we were the only ones there!).

Day 2: No wind, so motor to Cooper Island. We reserved a Boaty Ball after hearing about how busy they have been—not necessary as there were empty balls overnight. Walk around Cooper Island Beach Club and drinks at bar for sunset. Then dinner on board. Beautiful anchorage.

Day 3: Head to Virgin Gorda, mooring ball at Saba Rock. Checked out Saba Rock—very nice. Went to upstairs bar, had a blast at 5pm Tarpon feeding. Dinner on board.

Day 4: Beautiful sail to Anegada. Rented truck to Cow Wreck Beach—Beautiful!! Belle let us make our own drinks. Dinner at Wonky Dog—Lobster was great and Desne was amazing. Pretty rough night with high winds.

Day 5: Great sail to Monkey Point for snorkeling, and then on to Cane Garden Bay. We had first timers on board, and this was their favorite anchorage! We walked to Callwood Rum Distillery, great tasting and bought a few bottles. Quick stop at Bobby’s Grocery store for reprovisioning then back to boat for dinner on board. Late night drinks at Paradise with great pain killers and beautiful moon.

Day 6: Quick trip to White Bay, Jost Van Dyke for beach time in front of Soggy Dollar Bar. Then on to Great Harbor to have drinks at Foxy’s—they were very busy and short staffed. Dinner on board.

Day 7: Went around Jost Van Dyke to catch mooring ball by Little Jost and hike to Bubbling Pools—they were bubbling and beautiful. Then to Marina Cay for dinner on board and stay the night. We were planning on dinner at Marine Cay, but they are closed Monday and Tuesday nights. We are looking forward to eating there on our next trip, it looked really fun!

Day 8: Quick trip to Trellis to drop off 4 of our friends at the dock to head to the airport (we dropped them off at the dock closest to Marina Cay, and the second dock would have been more direct).

We are so excited to be back in the British Virgin Islands.

Great report - thanks for sharing. We are partial to TMM ourselves 😎. Marty does a great job with briefings. We are counting the days until we are back on our boat (late October).

Lol glad to hear the great reviews of Marty. Worked with him for several years at BEYC Watersports
