Wanted to give a shout-out to a new restaurant right on Simpson Bay. We stumbled upon Secret Seafood House during our walks while on vacation in June. They hadn't officially opened yet but the owner, Joseph, was kind enough to do a soft opening for us. I'm sure they are up and running by now. It is located right on Simpson Bay. Turn on the road (Simpson Bay Road) right over the bridge at the Police Station and follow the road around the bend and you will find it a short ways down that road. They have a parking area across the road. We ended up eating there twice. The food was very good. At the time they had only a limited menu and the first night we all had the Red Snapper. Everyone loved it. We went with our son and his family. The kids got burgers. The second time we went, I got the lobster pasta and my husband got the prime rib. Both were excellent. Joseph has put a lot of money into this location. There is a bar with TVs, a nice lounge area and plenty of dinning space. Gorgeous view of Simpson Bay. He told us that he supplies lobsters to many on the restaurants and has a huge lobster tank in the back and a smaller one up front. Hope his business is doing well. We will definitely be back and hope others will give it a try.

On your recommendation, we went to the Secret Seafood House last night and loved it! Our dinner was excellent! We shared conch soup and each had a pasta dish. Both were wonderful! The restaurant and setting were both lovely. Such a great new restaurant. We have been coming to sxm for many years and have been to many great restaurants here. This one is definitely on our list as a keeper!

I am wondering the same but also wondering if it could be more down towards the police station, kind of behind it. There have been several attempts for restaurants there.

JD, it's on Simpson Bay Road. Enter the road by the police station and follow it around. Elaine and Bill use to eat breakfast there and the old name escapes me. We were there a few times. I attached a map giving an approximate location.

Yes, it is right on the water. I believe there was something else there awhile back that very casual.

Is this where Majella and Jacques had their restaurant in the 1990's?

Neil - I’m drawing a blank on the name - we loved going there but I think Luis took that out. Le Pavillion maybe. Pretty sure this new place was a beach bar a few years ago, popped up after Irma briefly

Yes it right on the water. Take the road behind the police station and following it around the bend. This location has been a beach bar in the past but it was closed last year. Completely newly renovated and new ownership.

Post Irma and pre-Covid, I believe it was the old Guayabera Beach Club. Attached is a link to their old facebook page with a bunch of pictures and also below is a picture from the waterside, that I screen captured from a prior Jazzgal post, that shows the setup from about 4 years ago. Maybe the original poster can confirm from this information and if Elaine is around she might even know prior iterations of the spot.

I ate there when it was Guayabera and was singularly unimpressed. I'm looking forward to trying the new place as it's a nice enough setting although parking is an issue.

Thank you for posting this review. This sounds like our kind of place!

It's on our list of places to visit in September.

I was having one of those moments where I could not place this street!! LOL!!! I mean I've only been down it so many times when we stayed at the Boone!! I guess we don't think about places to eat on that street!! The FB page has some pictures. Enough to make me want to check it out!! Thanks for posting the map!!

Parking will be a problem because of the one way street and the home owners and apartments people have to park on the road.

Thanks for posting the Facebook link. I don't have an account with Facebook so I'm glad there is some advertisement for this place. Parking should not be an issue. There is a vacant, graveled lot right across the restaurant entrance that can accommodate at least 6-8 cars depending on how folks park. We did walk from Simpson Bay Villas.

I normally stay at the La Siesta condos, just a bit further up the road. When I was there in January/February they had construction equipment clearing out the land on the right hand side as you head up the road. I was wondering what it might be for. I suspect it is the afore-mentioned parking lot. This looks like it might be a nice dinner option when I return next January. The bonus is that I can just walk there, so no need to even move the car. Thanks for letting everyone know about it.
