Anybody have any knowledge/experience with this on the cat? I need to transfer fuel from starboard to port as the generator runs off the port engine. I know I need to push the button at the helm and hold it for 2-3 minutes. I would expect to see the fuel gauges adjust accordingly but they don't seem to be moving. You can hear the pumps in the aft staterooms when the button is pressed.
Thanks in advance...

There's probably a transfer valve you need to open in one of the engine compartments.

The valve should normally be open. The rate of transfer is not that high. You will probably have to hold it for 10 or more minutes depending on how much you use the generator. G

You can use the transfer button anytime. The generator is a matter of opinion. Personally I start it to cool the boat for cooking dinner and shut it off in the morning during the summer months. Winter I use it to charge batteries. If you run it while the boat is moving you have the possibility of the water intake coming out of the water in waves and pulling in air which will wear out the impeller. Depends on the boat and the intake location. I figure the less I run the generator the more likely it will work for the entire week at night when I am trying to sleep. Many charterers start it at the dock leaving and shut it off when they get back so I am in the minority. Personally I like the sea breeze during the day. You can also run the engines with the right side pushed up more than the left to help balance fuel. The new Leopards now auto balance the tanks so the issue is gone.

Mystery solved...on the pump itself in the starboard floorboard there is a switch on the actual pump that was turned off and when on you can hear it pump loudly...you would think after 20+ trips on cats I would have learned this
Last person who was actually owner must have turned it off

I learn new things every time I go. This is my first time on a 5000 so I am learning new things almost hourly! Who wires the internet to the instrument breaker! LOL

Ran into a guy with a new Leopard with computer fuel system...it completely drained one tank in Anegada. he came down on 1 engine 3 hours to Great Harbour JVD and Moorings couldn't fix problem so filled empty tank. Our boat is past its duty cycle so getting lots of practice fixing things...but generator still running after we cleared filter of sargassum so that is good
