Just got back from a western caribbean trip on the NCL Sun. We loved the freestyle cruising and the restaurants on the ship were top notch, well worth the $10.00 surcharge. To take advantage of the restaurants it is better to be a smaller group of 2 or 4. Never had a problem getting a reservation and this was a peak week. Ate at 7:30 or 8:00 every night. We only ate in the main dining rooms for the Welcome dinner and then for the Presidents menu. Service was excellent. My only complaints would be that on certain decks, you had to go thru a restaurant to get to the other side of the ship, but that was during the day, when they were not in use and you wanted to get to the pool. Also, would have liked another pool area on the ship, where you could get away from the crowds. The cabins were a good size, very comfortable. My husband loved not having to bring a suit. Would do this cruise line again, as long as it was one of their newer ships because I have to have a balcony. Service was excellent.
Stopped at ocho rios and did Dunns River Falls, Grand Cayman, seas were rough so could not do Stingray city, Costa Maya, did Dune Buggy off road to quiet beach and Cozumel, my husband did Snuba and then we went to Palancar Beach. Great time!!
