We have been to club o numerous times over the past 15 years but have never been to a US land based clothing optional resort. We will be visiting Tampa in late September and would like to test the waters on a day visit. Have read the different opinions in the past about Caliente, Paradise Lakes, but not much on Lake Como. We are not much in to socializing just being able to be nude and relax and soak up some rays and get a massage. Any advice current advice would help on any or all of these resorts or others? We are AANR members due to discount at club o. Would not be interested in the night life so that is not an interest.

This is a little off topic, does anyone remember North Lido Beach off St. Armands Circle, Sarasota, south of Tampa? Believe it or not it was a legal nude beach up until the early eighties. Very European atmosphere, very nice.

Lake Como is very laid back and non swinger. We joined last year after meeting some Lake Como members at Hidden Beach, Mexico. We took the least expensive membership, as we live about 40 miles away and will not likely visit that often.

It is a residential community as well as a resort and it is member owned. There is a pool (heated), hot tub, restaurant and bar. It surrounds a lake and has several hiking trails. The have a first-timer program, where you can get a tour, and sped the day. I think it was $18.00. I think it's worth a try.

Thank you for your response. That is exactly what I was hoping to hear. Do they have massages there?

Lake Como is a wonderful and relaxing nudist resort. But since you'll be in the area, why don't you visit Paradise Lakes and Caliente resorts as well?

So much hyperbole has been written about the swinging lifestyle couples at Caliente that one would almost equate this luxurious Land o' Lakes resort to a San Fernando Valley porno movie parody. Trust me, you and your wife can have a wonderful wholesome trip to Caliente without encountering swingers hell-bent on a foursome.

Caliente has a nice spa where you and your wife can enjoy a message.

Thanks again for your post. My concerns are not the lifestyle couples as is the unknown about the hard sell of the resort. We do not live in florida so we would have no interest in long term investments in the resort. But from previous post it seems the resorts are basically doing the time share pitch which I hate the pressure. I would like to show up pay the fees and enjoy the day. If I could gurantee that it would be no problem. That is why I enjoy being nude! No worries!

No sell at all during our visit. If you encounter say no thank you. There are extracurriculars on some nights by the hottub and mostly clothed evenings in the dining area/ clubhouse. Mostly nudist at the pool. Go to Cypress Cove near Kissimmee, bout 1.5 hours away. Perfect.

We agree with the recommendation for Cypress Cove, about 90 minutes ENE from Tampa. Great resort with great people who remind us of those at Club Orient, and at our "local" resort, Avalon in the eastern panhandle of West Virginia.

Don't know where you live, but if you are anywhere in the Mid Atlantic area, we suggest you investigate Avalon Resort just south of Paw Paw WV. It was our first "CONUS" naturist resort and we loved it so well we eventually bought a condo there and now drive there from southern MD a couple times a month to relax there!
