How about the hotdog cart? Was that there? Bathhouse ok?
And last question...is the Sea Gulls Nest Restaurant open?
Thanks! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" />

As of Sat June 15 bathrooms at Gunnison were not open due to plumbing issues. I have no info on when they will re-open. Port-O-Johns are in place -- Yuk. Food stand on Gunnison is not back, and The Seagulls Nest Restaurant is not open. Be sure to bring water, as you will not be able to buy any there.

They do have some food trucks roaming the parking lots.

While Gunnison is "under reconstruction" you might want to visit Rock Lodge in Stockholm, NJ. We have a lake, real bathrooms and so much more... Visit rocklodge.com for more information.

Update as of 6/16/13: the beach is open and much like it ever was. Exceptions: -The bathhouse/restrooms were open briefly but are now closed again due to poor drainage. No info on when they will reopen, meanwhile "enjoy" the Porti-Potties. - No permanent food or drink services are available in the entire park. Instead there are some food trucks that can sometimes be found in the parking lots. - The boardwalk through the woods from the parking lot is closed. The boardwalk to the beach is gone, replaced by Mobi-Mats although the total length is less that last year. - The beach area is somewhat reduced by several roped-off areas for the birds. The main casualty is the old volleyball court, although someone set up a temporary court last weekend. Rumor has it that some of the roped off area might be open at the end of the month. - I was told that last year a defibrillator and EMT medical person were stationed right on the beach but now they have been removed, "replaced" by an ambulance for the whole park, possibly parked miles away and without four-wheel drive. Some folks worry about the extra time it will take if help is needed.

As of 6/29...first time back this year and the Hook (from the outside anyway) appears just as it ever has. Bathrooms were not in service in the AM but up by the afternoon. There are 6 Porto Johns along the drop-off zone. I can only imagine that is not nearly enough for a typical summer weekend if the bathroom are down. Hope they can keep the bathrooms up full time. Also the showers outside are functioning. Otherwise previous posts capture the other details.
Yesterday was great...nice all day with the forecast showers as predicted after we had left late in the afternoon. The crowd was rather small, only about 300 or so but a much younger crowd (lots of 20'2 and 30's) in general. The beach was clean and water temp felt like it was in the upper 60's.

Update 7/14 - All rest rooms are open (there are still Porto Potties there, assume as backup). The Park Ranger said staff is now going to work on getting food concussions back up, with the Sea Gulls Nest first on the list. Still no snack stand on Gunnison.
