Any feedback on the lesser known nudist places in Palm Srings?
Living Waters, Aureola, one I may not know about.

Been to TCI and DSun plenty of times, don't need to rehash those.

We tried Living Waters a few years ago, we found the staff to be very nice but the property to be lacking. Living Waters is all concrete pool deck, surrounding a rather small main pool. The rooms are furnished and decorated in Euro styling, and the vibe there was more on the healing end of the spectrum as opposed to just nude recreation. I can understand why, I believe that one of the owners fought cancer and won, and they attribute that in large part to the healing water, massages and lifestyle they offer.

I overheard at our recent stay at DSE that Areola had changed hands and had maybe gone away from the Sea Mountain style that had been reported there. No firsthand knowledge of that though, but it would be a good thing.

Thanks... Other than the word "tantric" in every other sentence, I did not realize that Areola had a SMI reputation... I think my decision may be moot based on the few that allow one night reservations on the weekend. Want to do a quick weekend getaway with the wife as a belated anniversary weekend. I am also still too bitter about having our seasonly family trips to DS abruptly stopped against our will.

I honestly have a sort of hard time with the name, Areolas. Seems there are about a billion other names that might have been a bit less inappropriate. I don't think I could book a room there and drive up to the front door with my wife sitting next to me and endure her disapproving stare. Maybe that's by design, they probably don't want us as guests if we have a hard time with just that!

Your post reminds me of SM and their liberal descriptions: "zen garden", "celebrity hideaway", "luxury resort", "number one exclusive VIP retreat", "world famous", etc. We were suckered by the slick website that represents SM as something it's not, and ended up walking away from a LOT of money. There's a reason why they charge you for your whole stay the minute you arrive and then when you leave early pull out their 7 day cancellation policy and $50 cancellation fee on top. No other resort we've stayed at does it that way, but I'm sure they were tired of misled guests booking a few days stay and bugging out as soon as they saw what the property really is.

I encourage anyone interested in booking a nudist resort in Desert Hot Springs to thoroughly research the place beforehand. A cursory Google search will discover that SMI has been in the media for lifestyles type activities and reports that Areolas, under the guise of tantric message, is much the same. From past TV coverage and reports, the city officials of Desert Hot Springs were "completely surprised" these type of establishments were in their fair city.

Beyond lifestyle activity, I'd hate to see people spend a large amount of money to fly to the lower Mojave desert believing they were destined for the beautiful Coachella Valley and the resorts of Palm Desert or Rancho Mirage. Wcstflyer is correct. Always do your research as Google Earth, and the search engine of your choice, sometimes can paint a different picture than advertised.

I am not a nudist/naturist but I live in Palm Springs and the only nude resort I am aware of is the Desert Sun Resort, formerly the Desert Shadows Resort.

You're missing lots of local info! Terra Cotta Inn has a great reputation, and the owner has reams of publicity and honors received for their hospitality.
There are two or three others, besides Terra Cotta and Desert Sun, but they aren't "fully recognized" as nudist venues for some of the activities often seen, beyond nudism.
