Feb. 14 Valentine’s Day Early morning walk on the beach We went for our early morning walk on the beach and relaxed for a while under an almond tree; afterwards we had breakfast at the hotel, Kim likes the new restaurant as much as I do. We grabbed a bus and went down to the Carenage to inquire about Kim’s unused ferry ticket, they said we would have to get it at the boat when it was in. It was a beautiful day so we took a walk into the city going through the tunnel; the cruise ship tourist had begun to disembark and the streets of St. Georges were bustling with activity. We went to the market to pick up some fruit for the week there were some small mangos that smelled fabulous, there is nothing like fresh fruit and juices. I had some coconut water and we visited with the spice lady for a while. After stopping at the grocery store for some alcohol for the week we took the bus back to the hotel. We packed our stuff up and headed down the beach to the area by the craft market, there were two large ships I port and a section of the beach, from Coconuts to the Market, was lined with chairs. We staked out a spot by Norm and Lulu, Kim sunned herself while I went for a swim. Kim and Norm We spent the rest of the day just hanging out on the beach; we were thinking of going over to the Aquarium Restaurant for dinner but hadn’t made up our minds if we wanted to go there or BB’s Crabback. Norm invited us to join them at Umbrellas for happy hour drinks. So we went back to the hotel got cleaned up and took a bus down to the roundabout. We stopped at the supermarket for some things for breakfast and lunch the next few days, then walked over to the bar for a drink. The place was full and we joined Norm and Lulu at their table, local rum was only 5 EC so we had a couple drinks while they ordered their dinner. I was tempted to just eat here but we walked back to the hotel to decide what to do. Once we were there Kim said, we should have gotten some steaks and just ate here; that sounded like a good idea so I got back on the bus went to the store and picked up some fresh pork tenderloin and side dishes. It turned out to be a romantic dinner after all, Kim made the drinks while I did the cooking; when we were done eating we just sat on the balcony listening to the surf and looking at the stars, it couldn’t have been a better night.
Drink all day at home, your friends worry about you; do it on vacation and they say "what a good time you're having". Save your friends needless worry, travel more!
