We are spending 2 nights in STT prior to spending a couple of weeks on STJ. What is the status of Oceana? Any other similar options in the general area. We will have a vehicle. Thanks!

When we were there in November, Oceana was not open. But we had a great night at Twisted Cork. We would go back.

Oceana is not open but the owners have two other very good restaurants in Yacht Haven..Grande Cru and Fresh Bistro. They are both very good..Grand Cru was closed briefly but should be open now and "FB" is slightly downmarket but also great. Cant go wrong at either one and you'll recognise some folks from our favorite " Oceana"...

It is unlikely Grand Cru will reopen under the same management,Oceana is still being worked on. I recently had a very nice dinner at Mafolie, go early for the sunset view, at least for a pre dinner drink.
Sea la Vie in Frenchtown has opened and is doing very good food in a small venue, Twisted Cork close by also serves very good food, both however are not famous for the views if that is important.. Island View has reopened and is busy and only open on weekends. Same with a new restaurant up at the tramway at Paradise Point, both have excellent views.
Happy Anniversary!!

Thanks everyone! I think Mafolie it will be for that particular dinner unless Oceana is open mid June. I've loved Oceana for years. Used to go there regularly when I lived on STJ in the 80s when it was the Chart House. Back then there weren't many nice places to eat on STJ.

Yes....Grand Cru is wonderful although I've only eaten lunch when over that way doing some shopping. I'm still holding out hope that Oceana may be open by then. Anyone have any idea how far along they are with repairs/rebuilding?

We looked in on Oceana last week and were disappointed in the lack of any construction under way, at least on that day. Much has been completed and we heard that they were waiting on kitchen equipment to be delivered. It can be hard to tell what's really going on. June completion looks possible if they get after it. We too are looking forward to getting back there for a great brunch. Check on their website or the St. Thomas Facebook site for pretty good updates.

Oceana may be closer than you think - they are advertising for staff.

I've never been but have been seeing great reviews of the Island View Steakhouse? Looks like they book up quickly!

Facebook page has reviews and pics.

Where is the Island View Steakhouse?

I'd like to be a jelly fish, cause jelly fish don't pay rent.

Looks like Scott Free Road off Crown Mountain above Crown Bay? Looks like they are located within the Island View Guesthouse property.

Another great place with an amazing view for an anniversary dinner is Mirador at Point Pleasant! Chef Benny puts a wonderful PR twist on fresh island ingredients. The restaurant has been completely remodeled and includes a new wine cellar! The view is incredible down the Virgin Island chain.

Highly recommended by me!

We spent a night before and after a trip to the BVI in STT. Went to Twisted Cork before and Sea La Vie after. We both liked both, but I leaned towards Sea La Vie, my husband towards Twisted Cork. I do have to say the Basepark Pie at Twisted cork is one of the best desserts I have ever had
