I had a few people ask me about staying here so I decided to post a short review.
We have stayed at Alamanda 4 times so have formed some knowledge of the property. We have also stayed at 2 very nice villas above Orient (Villa bel Mer and Coccinelle) along with a couple other condos on the beach.
You stay at Alamanda for several reasons but one stands out - you want to be as close to the beach as possible but don't want to stay at Club O. As you can see from this shot the beach is right across from the property accessed by crossing the sandy gravel road that runs behind all the beach bars.

1) The staff is pleasant although I have read about problems we have always found them very helpful. Vincent the manager will make sure things are taken care of if you need upper level assistance and frank or one of the other front desk staff are always cordial
2) Breakfast - yeah - it's not much but it's free. Coffee, 4 different types of fresh juice and fruit. Bread is also provided in ABUNDANCE. We normally pass. you can also get other items for a small charge.
3) Location - we like this area the best. You can check in, and be at a grocery store (well not quite a real grocery store) within a 50 step walk. So if you need water, beer or even a french wine - it can be realized since you have orient Village right behind you.
Now - the things that are not so great..
1) The rooms need some updating although i have been told they have been updated somewhat. But the nice balconies kind of help make up for this. If cost is not an issue request the Presidentail Suite - it is larger and has a wrap around balcony that puts you almost on top of Orient Beach
2) Pool - small and barely used - if they put a pool bar there from 3-5 every day it would be a great hit.
Anyway - if you have any questions - please ask. Some rooms offer better views of the pool while some are better for beach watching. Overall - we love the place more after trying others for our last couple trips...
