Thursday stated out a little iffy, with overcast skies, but it burned off and turned to be a good final day in the sun and water.
As per our tradition, we go to Mario’s Bistrot for our last meal of the trip. As you probably have heard, Mario moved his place from Sandy Ground to Porto Cupecoy. There were 3 major reasons for this (as per our waiter). The building was in desperate need of some repairs, no parking and the area was becoming unsafe. The new location is very nice, albeit there is not much of a view. The food and service were top notch as usual and it was a great last meal.
Friday morning we headed out to drop the car off at Thrifty, it was a good thing we gassed up the day before, as gas stations were closed due to Good Friday. Check in and security were a breeze, we checked out the airport shops, then headed to the bar until boarding. Our flight home was uneventful and even came into Newark half hour early. Again went thru baggage claim and customs in under 15 minutes. Car service right on time and we were home by 7:30pm.
Final Thoughts:
The weather was a little different this year, as we has a lot of rain the first four days. It was extremely windy the whole time also.
No traffic issues to speak of, the entire time.
Overall it was a good 2 weeks and looking forward to next year’s trip.
