Day 3 was a very adventurous day! We were lazy in the morning and got off to a late start. Breakfast at La Sucriere was very good. Love the selection of breads and pastries. We had the ham and cheese croissant.
After breakfast we headed out to Cupecoy beach and found it fairly easily. Unfortunately there was not much sand so after exploring all the Cupecoy beaches, we decided to continue north. In Marigot, we got stuck in traffic for a while which slowed us down. So getting impatient, we decided to skip Grand Case for another day. We then headed for Anse Marcel and Grand Cayes. We found the ferry to Pinel and hope to check out Pinel in the future.
This is where the trip became interesting. We were headed up the mountain to Anse Marcel when a tour bus was coming down the mountain. This happened around the area of the hairpin turn. There wasn't enough road for both of us so I had to drive into the shoulder of the road. That's when I hit something and bent the rim of the front tire. The tire went flat quickly but I needed to drive to a safe area to change the tire so we continued up the mountain until near the top. While I was working on changing my tire, a couple of young guys stopped to ask if I wanted a scratch off card to win a prize! Some timeshare salesmen just don't know when to stop smile
After changing the tire, we decided to head back to Belair so Starlite could deal with the tire issue. Plus we didn't like the idea of driving without a spare tire.
We made it back in time to enjoy the beach and the Monday night BBQ at Belair.
That was enough excitement for one day!

Ouch! What a place to have a flat......those scratch offs and the people who give them out are a real pain in the butt but everyone's got to make a living, right? <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" />

Thanks for the update. Hopefully the tire and wheel was not a major issue.

Enjoying your trip posts. Our 1st trip to Anse Marcel in a very used Corolla, had the a/c off, lower gear and were still barely creeping up the hill, at the point you describe I was debating which way to turn the wheels if the car started to go backwards!

Read day 4, saw Anguiila was in the mix - we like a day trip to Anguilla, let us know about the trip on the Day 5 report!

Thanks

Had the same thing happen when I hit a submerged pot-hole. Rental agency charged for the damage, so I turned the receipt in to Master Card and their insurance carrier paid me.
