Our monohull bareboat dream sail starts Sunday April 10 Forecast sucks! Will it really rain so much with so little wind? I'm hoping the forecast will improve as it's still a few days away.

I do not think so!

"THIS WILL RESULT IN A GENTLE TO MODERATE TRADE WIND FLOW...AND A LIGHT TO MODERATE CHOP ACROSS THE OFFSHORE ATLANTIC WATERS THROUGH THE WEEK."

That is about the best anyone could hope for from April to November. You should have a great week.

Even when it rains, it doesn't rain all day smile

10th through the 16th look pretty good. 10-15kts winds...chance of rain...not dominant.

Throw all your sails up and skip the reef.

I would take 12.5kts winds over a 25+kts wind ANY DAY!!!

the following week looks kinda wonkey, but having worked at NOAA/NCEP for 6 years...statistically this is not significant.

Don't be concerned about the rain drops EVERY day...it rains 3-4 times in a 24 hour period all the time this time of year. It's called the "hatch dance"

Occasional daily showers are often a welcome event, you will likely appreciate an escape from the sun and a fresh wash of your boat. Might remember that anything left on the lifelines to dry overnight will likely be soaked the next morning (or no longer there).

Passing showers usually prevent us from doing whatever it is we planned on. They are usually brief and it's sunny again a short time later.

12 to 15 knots is the perfect sailing wind! It will be reported in the bar that night as 18 to 25 knots!!

Agreed Manpot. Just returned from 12 days on Jost and it was perfect!
