What a fantastic trip we had....travelling this time with the same couple we have gone to Greece with on two separate fall sail flotillas. They have tons of sail experience but newbies to BVI. so much fun to show them around and introduce them to the many friends we have now made over the years....most of you through this amazing TTOL community .

Fly day starts with. 03:45 wake up call...yuck...smooth comfy jet blue flight Portland, JFK to SJU

Overnight in San Juan then meet up with our friends at the cape air counter Saturday AM for adventure.....oh boy let the fun begin ...

As usual thoroughly enjoyed the puddle jump over to EIS...never get tired of the first glimpses of the spectacular turquoise water from the cape air window

We have arrived and are beside ourselves with excitement .

Have some time to kill before catching the 1 PM Speddy's to Spanishtown....what to do?

Man did that first Carib taste good ....and the roti from the trellis bay market was scrumptious ....Wow has this place expanded since last year....good for them .They served up what looked like an excellent BBQ at the FMP too.

Arrival in Spanishtown and excitedly get our rental from L&S to head for provisions and a bit of site seeing along our route to our Leverick home base. ... bucks and Rosie's first stops then Copper Mine ...gorgeous day

Just curious...why don't you fly right into VG with Cape Air?

Great as always Kim. But why not fly right into VG? We've "flagged stopped" there a couple of times from SJU on Air Sunshine..

BTW, I've booked a Greece charter for Sep 2016. Looking for your trip reports. Carole never saved em all?

We use the commuter books - The times for VG with Cape Air are limited in comparison with EIS. We have had to change to later flights on many occasions with weather and flight issues from the east coast and there are several flights a day into EIS.

Great to hear about your Greece trip ...not sure about the reports but they should still be there. ...world wide forum

I've never really done that research but would expect the flight options to be minimal and prices higher from Bangor to Portland....I would rather drive the few hours . we usually stay overnight in Portland at a park and fly that allows 3 weeks and take the early flight out . ...not sure if that answers your question?

I was just curious, and really, it is completely your choice. What makes you happy makes me happy, too.

I live in far western Maine, 2 hour drive time to PWM. We've always chosen to drive to BOS which is actually just a couple hours S of PWM, and can access non-stop BOS to SJU, but Park and Fly out of BOS is no way 3 weeks in any instance.

So , yes, you did lead me to the answer to my question. PWM has some great options and I'm happy for you !
