Pictures make it look like Christmas eve rather than easter eve with hail on ground.

This is nearby to Cypress during the storm, we were in the restaurant and it looked exactly like this outside. Lots of RV awnings and AC covers trashed, ditto for carports at the homes.

Our Avalon Friends Lynne and Nevin are at the Cove and reported their bus motorhome had the A/C cover and awning trashed...just like you said.

Good news is that they are trading in the older motor home for a newer one before they head back to WV!

We will be checking in at The Cove Thursday for two weeks. Any TTOL members There at that time?

We're seriously considering the Cove as an alternative this year. There's a serious illness in the family that almost caused us to cut short our SXM trip in Nov. It's a lot easier & cheaper to return domestically and we've heard good reviews of CC. Plus, we'd enjoy a change of scenery. Please let us know how it went.

Followup on original topic, our trailer was totaled due to hailstone dents! Lots of others too. But we'll be back to Cypress next year in a new one, for sure. Almost all of the homes there are getting new roofs and many getting new siding to replace the stuff that looked like it was hit with a machine gun. Pretty amazing.

Thanks,Carol Where you live did you hear about this storm? It was super localized, maybe just a mile wide or so.

I honestly don't remember whether I heard about it other than on here or not. Sorry.

That's ok, Carol, did not make a ton of news shows elsewhere, although it was mentioned in USA Today. Here is Ted Hadley's report on :

Hail Storm Repairs

We received a lot of support and concern after our devastating hail storm last month. Since then, I've had several inquiries about the condition of the park. Rest assured, the park is in fantastic condition.

All of the debris has been cleaned up. Leaves are starting to sprout on the trees again. Roofs have been replaced (again!). And we've managed to replace the many broken street lights throughout the park.

There's still a bit of work to do, but nothing that should affect your enjoyment of the resort. There are still a few roofs in need of repair. We are still waiting on the vendor to get the playground shade repaired. We are also waiting on a new shipment of pool lounge chairs to replace the many destroyed during the storm.

Unfortunately, most of the damage was to our residents' homes. There are still a lot of signs of damage, but there are also a lot of signs of ongoing repairs. Thanks again for all your concern.

This is good to hear. We just booked a stay at Cypress Cove in June. Looking forward to relaxing in paradise.
