Hey all. We'll be back in May, our third consecutive trip. We'll be spending two nights in Anegada and want to leave from North Sound to get there.
We've stayed at Bitter End. It was fine, but the dining wasn't that great, and the showers were pretty dank. We also stayed on a ball at Biras, which was nice and peaceful, but again, the dining was overpriced and pretty mediocre.
We've *visited* saba by dinghy and liked the food and drink, but we've never done Leverick and are considering it.
I know its a favorite here, so please if you can, share what you like about it. What makes Leverick a favorite stopover?
Cheers and thanks!

In addition to the above (Nick and Monica), there's a number of other benefits.
1. Great TTOL discount
2. Great spot to rent a car from to explore - we usually do 2 nights and do dinner out via rental the first night, then explore via rental car the next day and back at Leverick for dinner.
3. Friday night BBQ
4. Meet other TTOLers

Every trip we have very good meals at Upstiars at Leverick Bay. We think it is the sleeper gem of VG as it relates to finer dining on the island. All round a very nice meal - good wine list, service, food quality and a lovely setting.

Nick & Monica, great guys on the dock in the marina and the fuel dock, reasonably priced bar food at the beach bar, market onsite, rental cars onsite... We're fans as are the crew we've brought there.
Cheers, RickG

Leverick is fun whether you get a slip or a ball. My crews LOVE the Jumbie Beach Bar and Friday night BBQ. The Jumbie performance is really fun to watch--I could never do what those young performers do! Sooooo much fun! As mentioned, there is Upstairs for a good meal, shopping, and opportunities to explore. I always put Leverick on my itinerary. Try it, you'll be back.
The world is an oyster; now where did I leave my oyster knife...?

Has anyone used the showers at Leverick lately? We LOVE Leverick for all the reasons noted- Nick & Monica are beyond wonderful & the dock staff is the best anywhere... However, last time I used the showers they were icky. But that was a few years ago, and not a deal-breaker given all the other positives, but I wanted to throw it out there in case it's an issue.
If I can't be a good example, I'll just have to be a horrible warning.

I brought this to Nicks attention and he assures me that he will gladly accompany you next time to ensure there are no issues.

I especially liked the one shower with the electrical outlet so you can dry your hair while you shower.

We love Leverick for all the reasons above! As for the showers, we used them last November. Didn't seem icky to me - however I didn't see an electrical outlet. Personally, by the time I lug all my stuff to the showers on shore, slip around in my flip flops in the shower, towel off by doing the "don't touch the ground" dance, I've realized that showering on the boat is so much easier. But that's just me.

I agree with most that have already been touched on (location, ease for a land tour of the island, restaurants...). I might add that the staff there usually seems pretty friendly. We usually pick up some provisioning items that we missed at the start from the store. And while it doesn't apply for everybody, Bean's is a plus too.
And for full disclosure-I've never met Nick or his wife...sometimes it seems like I'm the only one here who hasn't!

Nope, somehow we missed them too. Maybe cuz we're not boat people. We checked out Leverick Bay late morning-ish, while touring around and staying at Guavaberry Spring Bay Cottages. Just had to see why everyone raves about Leverick Bay. Never did figure it out! Nice little gift shop but otherwise it was dead. I know we just timed it wrong, but we never cared to go back for dinner with the drive after dark. We heard Michael Beans at a show in CT. We're never down during his season there.

The restaurant is worth it alone..but hard to have dinner there if you wont drive after dark..of course you could take a very nice room there! Land based at Leverick can be a of of fun....we've been lucky enough to have a few memorable weekends there..

Sounds like a great idea, Mal. The easier-to-get-to restaurant choices in Spanishtown won out for us that trip. Went back on another trip with our friends, and our friend LOVES to cook, so lots of meals in at Symbio. Now we're doing St. John, and I'm in the minority missing the BVI.

Does anyone have Nicks email address? Or what is the best way to contact to reserve a slip?

Nick is awesome but just for FYI, sometimes his emails get might lost in other staff's spam file (at that was what happens to us in early Mar). So Catharina (Gen Mgr) there asked to make sure she's contacted via CC or direct (catharina@leverickbayrestaurant.com, 284-346-5238) for dinner or Michael Beans, Jumbies show reservations. She is a super lady (as all the staff there seem to be) and found eventually our email to Nick and made things happen to got us up front for Beans Happy AARRRRGGH. Don't know if TTOL slip special is still $25 or is now $35 (is what dock charged us after mentioning Nick and TTOL, so don't know if word got to them or not). It was rocking and rolling with 20+kt and swells the afternoon we landed there and dock staff was great shepherding us Med moor style back into the skip. Haven't met the missus but Nick is a fine fellow.
