We have been traveling to SXMnfor 16 years. Over the years the roadside rib stands have become scarce. We used to have Johnny B's when he was actual under the tree. Lido which was always in some controversy about cleanliness. The LOLOs in GC before and after they were closed by the Department of health. So we know the LOLOs are still around but we are at a loss for a true roadside Rib place. Does anyone have any suggestions or will this just have to go down in the memory books?

There's one right across from Skipjack's that sells all sorts of food from fish to jerk chicken to ribs.

I think you are talking about Captain D's?? If so, highly recommended!! We got some ribs there and it was a FULL box of ribs, very tasty! Enough for a couple of meals! Carry out only.

If it doesn't have to be a "roadside" stop and go, Marks Place has great ribs for take out or eat there.

I don't remember the name but it's between Toppers and the large parking lot across from Skipjacks and Lee's..) and has a street side blackboard with their specials on it...all takeout. Decent food...

Yup, Captain D's!! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Clapping.gif" alt="" />

I forgot the quintessential place--Rosie's Ribs at Mullet!! Had them again this time--$10 (or $12???) for a nice plate of ribs, fries, some plantain, and a small salad with a piece of avocado on it! Very good!

We saw Captain D's last year and stopped twice on our way home from happy hour and they were always out of food. What is the best time if day to patronize Captain D?

We went there maybe 1 PM and they had plenty of ribs, but not the more 'exotic' stuff on their menu.
