Looks like a lot of see weed in the water.Looked on the webcam no umbrellas up.Can someone give me a first hand report.

More sea grass than usual at this time of year. A bit breezy. Look again, most umbrellas are up.

Was there a week ago. What time were you looking at the umbrellas? They go up at about 9:00 AM and start coming down at about 4:00 PM. If the wind is strong they may not go up but it varies from day to day. Re: the seaweed, they appear to rake the beach in front of Club O about every other day so seaweed is not a problem.

Was there yesterday and it was packed. Lots of sargassum in the water near Pedro's. Other than that the Club O beach and water was great ! The erosion is pretty amazing from when we were here last in 2012.

They clean the beach at Club O every morning, early. If it is rainy and it will be a washed out beach day, they will clean it tomorrow

There has been heavy downpours every night and brief showers during the day. Every place is doing what they can but towards Mt Vernon is overrun with sargassum as well as in front of the unopened bars. It was 10 ft deep in front of them. I would have taken pics but it has rained every morning on my walk.

From the sounds of this and and so many other islands posts for the past week or so, I'm guessing the weather in general is totally bizarre everywhere. We had an eighty degree day in the middle of last week here in CT.... I mean, Really?
My sympathies to those having to deal with the crazy weather patterns right now and I hope you all know, this is definitely not the norm for SXM at this time of the year.

It's funny, I guess I really lucked out when I was on island, as I had very nice weather when I was there. Rain before and after..
