I just spoke with the "head Pineapple" himself, Pierre, and he is still offering his exchange rate special for Canadian citizens.

The special exchange rate is 1.20 to 1.00. This is offer is for CASH ONLY and is not to be confused with a straight 1 to 1 exchange.

Not only is Pineapple Pete a great restaurant with a generous owner, they are also a long time TTOL sponsor. Check them out and mention this special offer!

Pierre is a great businessman and this offer will certainly be appreciated by all Canadian visitors. I wish a few businesses in the USA would offer this rate to Canadians to encourage visitors too.

Would Canada reciprocate a discounted rate to the US?

Can't speak for discounted rates but anytime we travelled north of the border they were always very fair when exchanging US dollars for Canadian purchases. And most places we went were more than willing to make the exchange at the appropriate daily rate. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" />

Yes, because we are always so polite! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/jester.gif" alt="" /> Even if we can't for some reason, we would say"we are sorry"! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Grin.gif" alt="" />

Most Canadians would tell you that since $1 US = $1.33 Canadian, there is your discount. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Grin.gif" alt="" />

Seriously!!! Bring your US dollar to Canada. You won't be disappointed. Especially now!! Very nice gesture for Pineapple Pete to help all of us fellow Canadians. Hope to see him in May!
