We had another wonderful dinner at FIG on our last night in SXM. I was impressed with the service; I had ordered lamb chops and asked for mint sauce because I hate mint jelly. Our server asked me about the mint sauce and went off and made some. I was impressed but found out a bit later that it was Randy, the owner. After dinner we spied out the lounge (VIP as per hubby), and had the chance to talk some more with Randy. He is such a nice person, and I think he is located in a wonderful spot now and should do well there. FIG was always busy. Here are some photos of the food and new place. Not having been to FIG in its old location I can't compare the two.

Thanks for the pictures! I hope they do well there, as we always enjoyed it in Cupecoy.

What is the deal with the lounge?? Do they just serve drinks there or what?

On both of our visits nobody went into the lounge, but judging from the decor it's there so you can have a pre or after dinner drink. We were curious about it, so went beyond the curtain. We had our after dinner "shot" given to us there. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/toast.gif" alt="" />

OK, so you can go there if you like, it's not an extra 'cover' kind of thing? Sounds like a nice place to meet, if you're having a larger group for dinner, waiting for everyone to arrive.

Well, we didn't pay a "cover" charge to go in there. And yes, it is a nice place to meet before or after dinner. Maybe if there is anyone in SXM right now who plans a visit, can find out exactly what it's all about.

There was a sitting room similar to this in the old location on the way to the restrooms but not as nice as this.

Do you mean mint sauce? Mint jelly is on the menu, the mint sauce isn't.
