I know that I have read some suggestions for books that have been written with the backdrop of St. Maarten. I did keep a list but I can't seem to find it and I would like to start my library for May when I will be there for the month.
Can anyone help? Thank you

There's also "St. Maarten stories" book 1 & 2 available at amazon. I haven't read these yet.
Happy reading.

Going back a bit further, there are books written by a New York writer, I can't think of the name right now, who used to stay on SXM decades ago. The stories i remember were simple murder mysteries, nothing too elaborate, BUT, were set amongst all the beaches, towns and restaurants as they existed at the time and were sold in a charming little store on the French side called Pierre Lapin.

Valérie LIEKO, a doctor who lives on St. M has recently written two books. The first Chassé-Croisé is now available in English (I read it in French ... more St. M action than Parisian). I'm not sure if her other one La Dame de Cœur (Black Jack Caraïbe) is available in English.

Also Wet Feet by B.D. Anderson, and Happy Bay, Cole Bay Band and Sandy Ground, by T. Selma.

Oops, sorry, I see Jeepers already mentioned the T Selma books.

For those who want the english version (called Hide and Seek, Paris-SXM), here's a link: https://itunes.apple.com/us/book/hide-and-seek-paris-sxm/id1074413888?mt=11

Is it "T. Selma" or "T. Stelma"? Library today could not find anything under "T. Stelma".

Sorry, it is Stelma. I mis-spelled it. Available on Amazon I doubt most libraries would have the books.

I haven't read it myself, but it could be Gone Bamboo by Anthony Bourdain, who is now more famous as a TV chef and travelogue host on CNN.

Thank you so much so those gift cards at Amazon will be gone and now I will have enough reading material about my Happy Place to keep me happy for the month of May. I think the place I want to explore is The Beach Less Traveled.
