Tomorrow is go home day and we plan to drop our bags and then go to Maho for lunch. Maho gives easy cab access back to the airport - ie pick one up at the Sonesta

I can't visualize a resto that is open during the day for lunch? The Sonesta only allows guests to use their resto's, so the Palms is out

Any suggestions?

Maho Market under the RI Islander has a take out hot food in their market. Go to the beach sit on the wall and enjoy. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Clapping.gif" alt="" />

The beach bar next to Beach Side Villas. Karackter has shaded lovely dining area on Simpson bay. I hesitate to say sunset beach bar as it could be crowded and other than view and higher priced drinks( to pay for the view) the food is just ok. But all three are on the water with a breeze and beautiful views. Also restaurants on lagoon side simpson bay are an easy choice ex: Simpson bay yacht club= view/ breeze/ drinks/ location!!! Feel your pain on leaving. Best wishes.

Since your asking about Maho and not other areas, there is Cheris's, I think Three Amigos has lunch. Also Tortuga at the Royal Islander or the Driftwood bar - not sure what else is open for lunch in the area but you would have several choices

All this time and I've never been to the Tortuga Cafe! As it's been mentioned quite a bit lately, I've just added to my list to try.

Any idea what their breakfast hours are, and how late they serve? Not an early bird on vacation! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Wink.gif" alt="" />

What's parking like in that area? I'm adding that restaurant to my list too.

I was thinking we would just park in the garage behind Maho Market and walk across the street.

That's what we did when we visited friends who were staying at RI. Very easy, and not expensive at all.

thanks for the parking info . We seldom go to that area except to pass through on way to Porto Cupecoy.

Not good. You might get lucky to find a spot on the street across from R.I. but the easiest is to go past the all the shops and go into the parking garage on the left. Then just go the main entrance of LaPlage and walk thru the pool area to the Tortuga. If you are coming the area of the startz casino then the parking entrance will be just before the shops in Maho.

Just had Captain's Breakfast at Tortuga. 2 eggs, 2 strips bacon, 2 sausages, 2 pieces of toast and home fries for $9. And it's served all day!
