I'm doing a long weekend in March on STT. Thinking about a day exploring St. John, a day on JVD, and not sure about the third full day yet. There are no cruise ships in port on the Saturday, but will be ships the other days. Would you recommend anything specific for Saturday since there are no ships in port? Would there be an advantage of hitting STJ or JVD on that day to avoid crowds?

Maybe Magen's Bay when there are no cruise boats.

There's the St. Thomas zip line. Fun if you like that kinda thing.
Cruise ship excursions can book them up, so on a non-ship day you might find them available.

A nice time to go to downtown Charlotte Amalie without the crowds - explore the alleys and architecture, shop in peace and ask questions without a hard sell, find parking easily, visit the Sat. market, go early in the morning and watch the town wake up.

It all depends what you like to do. I like to go to town for shopping and lunch when there is one ship, maybe two. If you go when it is empty, you'll find some places closed, and you might be attacked as the lone shopper.

If you like beaches, no ships is good! If you have never been, a beach bar tour is great fun.

If you are here for Easter, you will find that they are not allowed to sell liquor at bars and restaurants from noon to 4 or so.

Yes, that's what I meant. Read what I mean, not what I write.
