Our favorite 'breakfast by the water' spots of late are our old favorites still - the SBYC as already mentioned, or Chesterfields by the marina in Philipsberg, but closer to home, we enjoy Tortuga. - I hope that's the right name - sort of behind the boat bar and at Royal Islander. If I've gotten the name wrong I hope some of the owners there will correct me. And on the other side of Maho Beach we also enjoyed a very pleasant breakfast at Sunset Bar and Grill last April.

In addition to the other excellent suggestions so far, Dreams serves breakfast and while the concept of "near" the water may be a little flexible in this case, we have always enjoyed the breakfast at the Hideaway at LaVista Resort, as it has a killer VIEW of the water, at any rate.

The Hideaway is very near the pool water and it does have an otherwise great view of the real water. Breakfast is decent and reasonable also.

As pat said, Chesterfield's is another great option if in town.

I was kind of wondering the same thing.

Looks like you are on the move again.

La Croissanterie looks out on to the Marina royale in Marigot. Lovely place on the water for breakfast & lunch.

Barefoot Restaurant, right on Courthouse Square, overlooking Great Bay and the cruise ships. Or Mary's Boon, right on the beach overlooking Simpson Bay.

They have two locations. One above Bon Appetite and one in the Simpson Bay Resort and Marina complex.

We are there now. The picture could be today. The word is a high end Mexican restaurant will open in the next 90 days. Eventually there will be a boardwalk down on the marina. You will be able to go from the Villas to the beach.

Really??? I guess something has changed there recently, as that restaurant has been NOT good for a very long time.. The view is lovely but service and food have been horrible.

Would "Their" make you happier and give you self gratification that you were able to correct a post I mistakenly made??? Have a nice day.

We seem to have done so in the past. Thank goodness for spellcheck, otherwise I'd be lost. At one time I was a decent speller and my syntax was good, but then I got a secratery and it was down hill from there.

haven't had any service problems there. Breakfast time is fairly quiet. Fried eggs and omelets were pretty good.

A couple of times we have been one of two tables and had it take close to an hour to get food at breakfast.. Honestly, there has to be some serious problems there, that it is NEVER busy there...

Unless things have changed, the restaurant, the pool bar and The Upper View all have a common connection.

Speaking of the Upper View...has anybody been there lately?? Still open??

Yup...then Alexander's moved there from over Bon Appetite...then they moved back to the original location last year most likely due to the upcoming Marina area renovation

Pic was taken two weeks ago
