I have no idea what any of this means but I know many people purchased timeshares at the property. Pelican Auction

If I read this correctly the buying of the resort by the company operating as Simpson Bay Resorts has been confirmed after the validity of the auction was challenged.

The attorney for SBR seems to think this is the last of the lawsuits regarding Pelican. I personally can't keep up to know whether that is true, but it probably is time for this saga to be over.

I hope this doesn't start all the "the Hard Rock is coming, the Hard Rock is coming" foolishness again.

Don't know, I think it was a very real possibility, way back when, but the lawsuits were probably the main thing that stopped them coming, way back when. Who knows what the situation is now..

At least a 15 year drama or maybe more. I was involved as a Pelican Owner but I am so glad they let me just give my rooms back.

I am happy it worked out well for you. I, too bought in 1994. And I stuck it out until 2012. When SBR was built, I lost my view and stayed. The last straw was the $1900 bill. No regrets. We enjoyed many vacations there. Hope you continue to enjoy yours.

Owned since 1990. All the ups and downs were worth for us. Will be there starting Monday for three weeks!

I agree..the view is a big part of our unit. I guess if you never had a decent view it really doesn't add into the equation....but..."owning" a unit with a nice view and having it taken away would put me over the edge....

We are very pleased with the outcome. When it's over it's over. My wife and I can enjoy all the improvements SB made over the last few years and it just keeps getting better. If we didn't have our fifth floor balcony in Bougainvillia to look out across the Caribbean we would miss it terribly.

I think if I had a B building view I would have sucked it up and stayed. We were in The Caladium Bldg and had upper and lower unit. We lost most of the view and as I said, when the big bill came, I had enough.

Bought upper and lower units at Caladium (C11) pre-construction in 1984. Have stayed through all the financial ups and downs, and also the construction of the beach front, marina, and B complex units (staging area was right behind our units - where the B pool is today). Also were locked out of our upper unit because of hurricane damage (Pelican provided additional week), and locked out during the closure of the resort. A small part of our view was obstructed by the new buildings, but there is still a great view from our units. We stayed on and are still glad we made the decision to purchase in 1984. We later rented from the owner of the next week to extend our stay to two weeks, and finally bought that unit from the owner a couple of years ago. We will be there in 13 days!
