My wife and I haven't been to Orient Beach for several years, but used to come every year. Love it! Stayed at Esmeralda's and coming back in a couple of weeks. Hear there's been some changes, but hope not too many. Wonder if at least "the Legend's" still hanging around (pun intended). Last time he was stationed next to Pedro's, on Club Orient side . Any sightings?

Shouldn't he be dead by now?

All the standing around reading and caring al that extra weight can't be good for one's health.

If he did pass away, I hope they buried him standing up...I don't know that six feet under on his back would be deep enough!

He was alive and well as of two years ago. He was standing by the rocks near Pedros posing for pictures with several cruisers! Certainly a different kind of beach stature!

Was wondering how many remember him. The rock next to Pedro's, with book (don't think he turned a page yet) and straw hat was exactly where we saw him last...although he used to wander to the rock next to Coco's.

Yes, that was his chosen spot. Same book, same page!

The Legends Legend is growing, pun intended. Saw him hanging out near the large rock near Coco's pretending to read many times during late winter trips to Orient. Surprised no one on here actual knows him. He was a fixture on Orient since the late 90's.
