If you had to pick an airport to fly through which one? both flights give over a 2 hour layover so I hope that would be enough, and she's flying on a Thursday. Trying to get my daughter down for a few nights in March, but get her back to Westchester instead of JFK so it would be an easy pick up. And these are our options.

I usually chose Charlotte for weather. We were scheduled thru Charlotte, in March, and AA changed us to Philly.

Unless it's winter, both are probably about the same; if winter I'd definitely choose CLT because of the weather issue. Philly used to be horrible, but the last couple of times we flew through there it had improved a great deal. Is she Global Entry? If not, CLT has kiosks for all passengers, which do help to lessen the wait at immigration (which shouldn't be bad on a Thursday anyway). I'm not sure if Philly has them; they didn't the last time I flew through there, but it's been a few years.

I would choose Charlotte. We almost missed a connection because we had to circle for a while because it was too busy to land in Philly. Philly is just a busier airport. Heard this many times over. Charlotte is nice. Just my experience.

Thanks everyone - hard decision. Trying to decide Charlotte or - Non stop to JFK and she takes are car from long term home then comes and gets us! Can't wait to throw that at her!! . Weather always dicey in March. Such decisions to worry about <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Wink.gif" alt="" />

Going down, Charlotte because chance of better weather. Going north, Philly. If delayed due to weather, more hotels in Philly. Charlotte area fills up quickly.

6 of one, half a dozen of the other. Have had fewer issues with Philly. We usually like to go with a longer connection time. In the past our flights leaving SXM have caused us to miss our connection in CLT. Plus we have encountered LONG lines there with immigration/customs. Philly is closer to home so if something happens (i.e. missed flight) we can always rent a car and drive home.

I agree with the previous two posters....
Returning I like to come through Philly, BEST C/I. Super speedy. Large hall. Ive dealt with gestapo at Charlotte, and said "never again"
We also have Global Entry. Easy machines at Philly.
And like they point out....larger metro area if you have to find another way home...Amtrak, rental car, or stay in a hotel.

Thank you everyone - decision made just now, in and out of JFK!! and she can take our car home (parked in long term at the airport) then come get us later in the week!!!! Amazing when you actually sit and think about all the scenarios! I was leaning toward Philly as she could always get back to CT via plans, trains and automobiles, but this should work, direct flights and no issues - Hopefully - AA down and JB back!
