Dream Yacht has a new Bali 4.0 Catamaran that we are looking at to charter. Just wondered if anyone else has been on one. Not having a trampoline in the front is weird looking but might be interesting. Also having the whole back close up is cool but there is only AC in the cabins. Which would be fine. It's just the 2 of us going this time.

Would love to hear any review also. Looks like an amazing open space but I was concerned about the interior temp when the garage door is up unless a nice breeze is flowing from the forward drop window toward the aft. Also seems as if visibility from the helm may be limited. Considering the newness of this cat and the limited charter operators providing it I'm not surprised at the lack of responses.

We looked at the boat during the Anapolis Boat Show. We did a quick walk thru. Looked like it would be a good boat to charter. I think the front large window slides down so with the back door open it should be like outside. I would not want to deal with a stuck garage door however. It also has a full house size refrigrator. I have no clue about how it would sail.

I spoke to the guy who sells them for Dream Yacht prior to the Annapolis show. The boat has many selling points for a charter. The reason most cats have the trampoline is weight distribution. Bali claims to have addressed it w lighter materials. The front window and large refrig also great in tropics. Not sure what version you are looking at but they are building some 4/3 w a flybridge like the Lagoons. As for sailing capabilities, prob will come in behind some of the other standard charter models, which already are not agreat performance yachts, so if that is not important, the Bali yachts (they are also making a 4.5) seem like agreat alternative with a progressive layout.

The trampoline will also let major water thru when taking a large wave over the bow in a heavy seas. Since you can choose to not to go out in nasty conditions in the BVI it should be fine unless your sun bathers miss it.

Probably won't help you in time, but I'm chartering one in June in Mallorca. Given the interest, I'll post a review then.

In May we are chartering the Bali 4.5. It looks like a nice layout. Maybe we will see you there.

Just bumping this in case anyone has chartered the Bali 4.0 lately. I would love a review on it.
Thanks

The Bali 4.0 is a brand new model which is barely getting started to be delivered as we speak. You won't see reviews (for chartering, that is) for quite a while.

Not a charter review, but I stumbled on this today. Thought it might help.

Thanks Chriskal, We really wanted to 4.0 since it's just the 2 of us this time. But apparently, DYC won't be getting it until November. So we have chartered the Bali 4.3 in May. I will write a trip report when returning.
