Is the sargassum weed still prevalent around the Caribbean, and BVI specifically?

We just got back from JVD from an 18 day stay and there was no problem there.

Saw quite a bit in the water but not that bad on the beaches. That wasin early December.

We were there from Christmas to 2 days ago & as stated above, there was quite a bit in the water but we didn't find any of any consequence at the beaches we went to.
If I can't be a good example, I'll just have to be a horrible warning.

We've been out for a week and have seen very little compared to November.
