Just having fun, what's that 1st drink you have to order when you arrive in SXM? For me its a Ti Punch, preferably staring at the water.

My tradition is Ti Punch with ice followed by Ti Punch without ice, and then I know I'm on the island. Feel free to have one for me. By the way, it is my favorite mixed drink in the world.

My first drink the last couple of trips (sometimes a beer in the condo since others are already there) has been a Dewars and water at the "local watering hole" with you.

Yeah, like that is going to happen!! We need to make a bet again on something, so it will be on you again!
My first drink would either be white wine or rum and coke, it's a toss up!

Piña Colada at the Greenhouse in Simpson Bay. Always our first night go to place. First drink at our condo Rusty Nails, a little heavy for the island but that is our standard drink.

Because of my heritage, I used to enjoy them. Years ago my neighbor and I had a few too many at my house and when I awoke I had an idea of the name meaning. After that feeling of someone pounding rusty nails into my head, I've been a single malt guy.

Does anyone remember a "Mullet Bay Welcome"? It was kinda like a frozen rum punch, maybe with a hint of coconut. In the heat, within 3 minutes it was beautiful pink mushiness. All of the bars at Mullet Bay could make it. On departure day we would go to the Ocean Pool and order a Mullet Bay "See Ya!" Cracked the bartender up. I believe Rosie still knows how to make them....and I do love her rum punches!

As long as we're talking about great island drinks, my recommendation is the Rum Special at Chez Raymond on Baie Rouge. Don't remember the exact name of the drink. It might be Raymond's special Rum, but it is a blend of a number of rums and way, way good.

For years now our first drink has been a Carib at Buccaneer Beach Bar. We like it there because it's on the way from the airport and we can keep an eye on our car, since our luggage is still in the trunk.

Last June when we arrived, there was a booth giving out free Heineken at the airport. So, we drank our first drink while we waited for our luggage to come off the plane. It was pretty awesome!

Very often a Johnie Walker black at Perch late in the afternoon. Not an island drink but after a day of travel I am up for a stiff one.
