Although I thought it would be years before we ever came back to SXM, it looks like we'll be headed back there, summer of '16 for our 5th trip in 8 years. Can't escape, not sure if we ever will.

So, as I skim along through years of posts, can anyone out there flex a little island knowledge and catch us up on whats new (positively) in the last two years? New attractions, major developments, weird things etc? (We'll be staying in Cupecoy, we're very familiar with the western half.)

Also, could anyone say if there's a markable difference between staying in June in comparison to August? Ocean? Crowds? Events? Beaches?

Thanks anyone for any knowledge you can drop. Glad to be back!

There is a new causeway from airport that makes it easier to get to French side; however, since you're at Cupecoy that won't be handy for you but it great even to get to P'burg by avoiding Simpson Bay & the bridge openings.

We are in Cupecoy also, we use the causeway often to get to the former Grande Marche, now CARREFOUR, in Cole Bay, on Union Road. It makes the trip a lot quicker.

Anyone have any info on new attractions? We tend to be active when we are down there (parasailing, jetskis, snorkel, cliffjumping, etc) <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Joy.gif" alt="" />

Not new within last two years, but a must-do for me is always a sail on the Passaat Schooner.
