We're on our annual visit to SXM and decided to try some of the new eateries in the area on the French side. The first is Bo in Orient Village. They opened about a month ago. Great service, excellent meals and the very nice atmosphere of all the eateries in Orient Village. The second, Le Petit Table in Grand Case is in the former location for one of our long time favorites - L'Estaminet. They were in their 4th night of business and we felt totally welcomed. The new owners are delightful and the menu is creative, interesting and very good. Every thing about the place was a delight. We also had a delightful meal with friends at Mezza Luna in Nettle Baie - our first time there. Yes, 3 new places in our first 6 nights of this trip.

Wow, you are certainly more adventurous than I am, but glad you have enjoyed the new places so far! Where is Bo in Orient Village? What was there before, if you know?

Thanks for the new names. Do you remember what you tried at each?

I do not recommend Mezza Luna in Nettle Baie. We dined there, it took hours to be served, the food was visibly deep frozen reheated, very oily...

We complained and when giving back our change, the boss placed two cocktails on our table.

Thinking that it was a gesture to make up for the shortcomings, we thanked him. He then picked up the glasses and took them to another table explaining that he made a mistake.

We also tried the pizzeria attached. Pizzas are made from tinned food and are bleak ...

We live in Nettle Bay and were very happy to see a new restaurant setting up. Unfortunately our neighbors also have had bad experiences there.

I'm curious where is Bo located, did it replace one of the other restaurant's in the village?

We ate lunch there(Mezza Luna) in November and it was one of the best meals we had in the three weeks we were on the island. We were with a couple from Anguilla and we were speaking with them this past Friday and they were still raving about the meal. Everything we ordered was made fresh. The service was very slow but we didn't mind as we were catching up with our friends. We did find it pricey but would definitely dine there again.

We ate there when they opened in September, maybe they have fixed the issues, they still don't seem to have many clients though... I live close and drive past several times a week.

Very odd, as I spoke with a friend who lives on the island, and she highly recommended Mezza Luna. She's a restaurateur herself, so her standards are high. Perhaps, as you said in a later post, you visited before they got the kinks worked out. We weren't able to get there this trip, but it's on the list.

Eating in SXM is always a pleasure - with friends or just the two of us. Love the feedback even when someone did not have as good an experience at Mezza Luna. We were also with friends so timing was not an issue. The food was excellent for all of us. As for Bo, it is in the last space heading back on the right where the sports store used to be years ago - right across the walkway from Cote Plages. there are 5 or 6 eateries along that row now. BTW - we're also been to Ti Coin Creole twice with Chef Carl and his son CJ helping out. Great little gem hidden away a bit - at the bottom of the road heading up to the Grand Case Club hotel.
