With the new restaurants still under construction, I am looking for some lunch suggestions. We plan to hit Pedro's, Kakao and Kontiki but are looking for some other places to add to the list. thanks!

Of course, everyone knows my favorite is Kakao, but Palm Beach is another great option.

Georgia, does Kakao charge for chairs even if you are having lunch there?

The Perch has decent sandwiches and pizza, and you don't have to be naked. Also, it's not ON the beach, but in the square at Orient Village, but check out Yellow Sub. They have rotisserie chickens, great burgers and wraps, etc. Especially if you're going someplace like Club O, where you can bring your own cooler, you can bring your cooler to the beach, so you could stop most anywhere and pick up some great snacks to have for lunch. Those are some of my favorite lunches.

Waikiki is another great option. Good food and service and comfortable beach front. They have full service on beach or in restaurant as well as a lunch buffet.

Bikini Beach! We ate lunch there many times in November & plan to eat many more in January. food is excellent & service as well! they have flambéed pineapple & bananas in rhum served on half a pineapple shell. Delish! The chicken curry stew is also very good.
Hopefully, though, Orange Fever will be open in January as well!

Papagayo - much better than Pedro's, just my humble opinion.

I'm curious--what is on the buffet and what is the cost? I've not really heard of a beach bar with a buffet for lunch.

I believe they only have it after the w & c reception on Tuesdays in season. But it is really good - ribs, chicken, shrimp, salads, sides - 20 Euros pp. We also had their Thanksgiving buffet this year - 31 Euros pp, turkey, ham, fish, beef, sides, pumpkin pie - we were impressed.

Waikiki's website shows a daily all you can eat buffet, Monday thru Sat 12 to 3 for 18 Euro's plus a regular menu - sounds like a lunch option for some
We have never been, so no comment on the food

We were there November & yes Waikiki does have a lunch buffet with lots of choices & regular menu & snack menu. We aren't buffet people & we didn't like the overall atmosphere of restaurant so we went to bikini beach. Waikiki has ad boards here & there on island advertising the buffet.

I'm not normally a buffet person either, just thought it was unusual for a beach restaurant. Do you remember what choices they had ?

Sorry I can't remember what the waitress said about the choices because I wasn't interested but she rhymed off lots of items. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/duh.gif" alt="" />

Carol there was a mix of both hot and cold food, soup and dessert. Nothing too high end, but enough variety I think for most. The buffet on Saturday includes Lobster but at a higher price, I believe it's 39euros.
