Can anyone suggest where to shop for front loading washer dryers, both washer dryer combo units and separate front load washer dryers on St Thomas...??

Also where to shop for portable generators, either gasoline or diesel that produce both 110 and 220 volts on St Thomas??

Would Puerto Rico offer better options....??

Safe and enjoyable boating.

That probably would be the best bet. Cost U Less might have generators also, but don't know about other appliances.

PR might be better.
I've been following Captain Jay's tales of terror trying to get an undamaged washer or dryer (I forget which) into St. T.

Front loading washers promote black mold, just a warning

Black mold where? We've had a front loader for about 8 years and LOVE it! We ALWAYS leave the washer door open after the last load of laundry though, and have the dryer running (we have them stacked), and make sure the washer is dry before we close the door. Haven't had any problems with smell, etc., either, like some have noted.

Home Depot and Kmart if they have what you want in stock. Otherwise buy it in Florida and use a freight forwarder like St Thomas Cargo.

There's still a KMart in STT? They are going out all around here.

STT KMart is up and going strong. Funny how things are different when you are down here for extended periods of time. KMart and Home Depot are now destination shopping spots. That rarely happens when we are back home in Wisconsin. Actually we are off to KMart this morning for Christmas decorations and other stuff. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/jester.gif" alt="" />

K-Mart and Appliances Plus for washers/dryers. I can't help you with portable generators.

When you don't have competition, it is easy to be successful. I have heard that the big K-Mart in Tutu is one of their best performing stores...

Time Center, at the corner in Tutu, across from Ft Milner. Same corner as Rodriguez Auto parts.
