Hi just wondering what the cost for taxi is for 6 ppl from STT airport to CYOA? Trying to decide on taxi vs renting a car as well as provisioning vs. self provisioning. Thanks for any info

The rental care is really easy and gives you a lot more freedom for provisioning and running last minute errands.

Make sure to ask for a car big enough for everyone in your group and their luggage. I almost had to do 2 round trips once!

CYOA has great provisions, and I hate to spend 4 hours of my precious vacation food shopping.

However, that said, there's a Pueblo Market *almost* within walking distance of CYOA.

I've paid about $10 every year from STT to CYOA. I'll drop off bags and such at the boat and walk to the market and take a ride back with provisioning. Depending on their car and how much food we have, it can be 1-2 cars back. If you are cool with walking around a little, I would forego the car rental.

Like most things in the Virgins .. Taxis are way more than at home. Charge is per person...make no sense but taxi drivers are the most politically active group in both US and BVI..BVI drivers are friendlier iN our experience..but both are expensive. On the other hand, I would not be the least bit concerned about the taxi ride to CYOA. On a charter, likely the most inexpensive thing you will do all week. There is a fixed rate schedule posted at the airport adjacent to the taxi dispatcher. All taxi drivers are required to carry and provide a rate sheet upon request of a passenger. There are numerous online sources showing the rates with a simple Google search. Recently the taxi association has added a $10/cab/day fee for drivers not members in the association that is based in the airport that is paid by the cab driver. If you walk out of baggage claim and get in a random cab the driver is in the airport association. If you call a separate cab from a driver that isn't doing a lot of airport trips, the driver may add a few bucks to help offset the fee. As wisely suggested, ask what the total cost will be before you get in. All fares are regulated.

We Chartered through CYOA last week (awesome time by the way), the Cab was $10 per person - Wells took us.
