We are staying in the Simpsn Bay Area. We haven't had any cable device since Sunday. Owner of the property tells us someone cut the cable line and doesn't know when it will be fixed. Is anyone else experiencing this?

power problems since Sunday in Simpson Bay...today was power was out from about 10:00 until 4:00...this would affect your cableand internet. some businesses could not open early Sunday morning because they could not open their electric hurricane shutters

Not just Simpson Bay, Cole Bay and Cupecoy were down also.
We were getting spoiled with an almost normal supply, pity !

GEBE failures again. First generator piston problems, then cooling failure. Forced us to spend more time listening to each other and enjoying the beach.

The power failures have nothing to do with the cable service being out. Cable TV comes from St Maarten Cable TV, owned by parent company Innovative, a provider of cable TV services in USVI, BVI, and St. Maarten.
GEBE is wholly owned by the Government of St. Maarten.

And the cable can be out, even if MY power isn't out, if the power is out at the source of the cable service.

I agree--when electric off so is cable. And lots of times cable is off when you do have electric. Are they both fixed as yet?
