We are heading down in Feb, 2016 > need an overnight stay prior to getting the boat. We usually charter and go to the Scrub marina for one night. So, I contacted Scrub about spending one night in "hotel" prior to my charter. They want $969 (say what? - even dyslexic people won't fall for that price) for one night. I emailed them back explaining I could charter a boat and stay in their marina for cheaper than that. They have consented to go down to $859. I will never complain about the Mooring's sleep aboard price again (and we are not staying at Scrub). On second thought, I might see if continental breakfast is included in the $859.

I wouldn't count on the continental breakfast, ggffrr! They charter their 61' Viking, Ruckus, for $4,000/day - and it's bring your own beer, even at that price. I have always enjoyed Scrub and its staff... but the ownership is unrealistic about, and out of touch with, their market.

WOW .... I guess they are trying to draw in the "elite". That's certainly out of our price range.

Do you have any Marriott points? The majority of guests seem to use those, so not sure how many paying customers they actually have.

Not sure of your exact date. I put a Saturday in Febuary in the Marriott website and it was $659 or 45k points

Consider this..you can stay in some very nice places in the BVI's for a week for that amount!

The usual rate in February for a standard "guest room" is $659/night, or $579 or so if you get a AAA rate, senior rate or something similar. There are a number of February dates where all the standard "guest rooms" are sold out, and the $969 rate appears because they only have 1 BR suites remaining. I agree that is high, but it is not their normal hotel room.
