I saved a post on this but can't seem to find it. We're at Sebastian's right now and have 3 days and a rental car. Hit me with your suggestions! Restaurants and snorkel spots? Sat will be cane garden bay.

We rarely spend the night in Soper's but had to last week to be in position for checking out first thing. If you like excellent quality food, wine and service, then Scaramouche is not to be missed!!

Manpot - thank you! Sugarmill sounds wonderful. Are reservations required? Did someone say recently that the owner of Bananakeet passed away? Is the restaurant still open? We could go there tonight (Fri) Like that these places are on this side of the island. A longer drive, in the dark, on the left side of the road isn't on my top 10 things to do.

You'll definitely need a reservation for Bananakeet. I'd call right at 11am, but you may not be able to get in this late.

All of the above! The coconut ice cream at Sugar Mill is to die for. If you head over to Nanny Cay, Peg Leg's has a yummy bbq on Friday nights at their outside bar. So good.

Does anybody like The Dove in Roadtown? I think their food is fabulous. I think the owners Scott and Paloma are still there or were as of last year.

The Dove is closed right now. Ownership changed and they're going through the permit process.

You guys are awesome! Just ran down to the front desk & called Bananakeet. Got a reservation for tonight at 6pm and Reuben is playing.
Virtual hugs to you all!

Please say "Hi" to Reuben for me..he knows me as Malcolm...and he'll play " You Belong to Me"!! Chris Washburn, the owner, did tragically pass away but the staff and her partner Bonkey have kept the place running fine..you might want to check out the place by Ke Villas in Carrot Bay (next to the graveyard on your right heading east) and definitely stop by if it is finally open. It may be going by "Gene's Place" and will be run by Gene and Robin who made such a huge success of " Cruzin"..her cooking is amazing. When we left last week they were days away from final paperwork..Reservations should be made for upstairs at " The Sugar Mill"..they appreciate men in collared shirts and nicely dressed ladies..stop by their upstairs bar for a drink and at least check it out and introduce yourselves to owners Dennis and Mary..they will treat you royally..

Manpot - we have reservations for dinner at the sugar mill on sunday on the "terrace" as we'd prefer to be outside. Will we be ok with my husband in shorts and s collared tropical shirt and me in a sundress?
Will say hi to Ruebej tonight!

That's perfect dress code..they are not really enforcing things but really dont want folks showing up in sweaty "wifebeaters" ( as happened one night). Shorts and collared shirts will always be fine..enjoy your meals!

Bananakeet was wonderful. To say it has a sunset view is an understatement! Rueben provided a wonderful backdrop. More later in a trip report.
Tomorrow we're heading to Nanny Cay to check out our next charter boat (with virgin motor yachts) and some breakfast before snorkeling at smugglers cove. Breakfast recommendations?

If you go to D' Best Cup, go early. He gets super busy with local biz on Sundays.

Below is an brief exchange on Facebook from a post I made about Frenchmen's. I purposely deleted the posters name.

Rick: Be VERY wary as the Chef and staff at the restaurant apparently have left.
Like Comment Share

Hi Rick.....always good to be wary, but in this case an excellent team led by a European Chef who has been trained at Michelin Star restaurants will be reopening the restaurant with a soft opening on December 17th. The new operators are working feaverishly to get things together for the holiday season so will be having a formal grand opening in early January. It is my understanding that for the last few months the restaurant has been open for limited service and offerings while the new team was being assembled. As this has all happened so quickly more announcements regarding the chef , the menus and events will be forethcoming.....stay tuned!
