When did Le Hoste become La Playa, and is there any significance to the name change (i.e. new owners, upgraded property, etc)?

Ownership changed a few years ago I guess they just got around to changing the name. Its not the same as it was but that's life.

La Playa is a restaurant and beach bar at the north end of Orient Beach. Why do you think L' Hoste changed it's name?

The new owners have wanted to change name from the beginning. Finally settled on calling them both La Playa since they own both.
They felt it would be less confusing. (????)
In any case they have done a good job of catching up on much needed repairs and maintenance and are hoping to do more extensive renovations next year barring any unexpected events.
