This is absolutely perfect and should be required reading before all first-timers depart to any of the Caribbean islands. Over many years I've come to know a few islanders who were born and raised on 'the rock' and so much of this could have rolled right off their lips and into print......
Thanks for sharing it here, Kim. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" />

I have read a few of those posts before, by other women, I believe, and they really are very sage writings.

A lot of common sense and sadly, that is lacking in a lot of things today.
I remember my first cruise 25+ years ago and on subsequent cruises hearing very similar things from the "port lecturer". Be respectful of the islands, their customs and the people.

Good blog post. Interesting to read that and then read the various posts about things that are happening on the island. It might be a good idea to consider some of those dos and don'ts before posting <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Smile.gif" alt="" />

Great tips and wish it would have told women to cover-up even on the beach when going into an eating establishment on the French side unless of course one is at Club O. Cover the 'girls'. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Grin.gif" alt="" />

Oh, I so agree! And don't wear thongs into a restaurant either, males and females!
