We arrive late Saturday night and want to get groceries on Sunday. We normally go to Le Grande Marche but have read that Simply has pretty good prices. What are their hours on Sunday and have others found them to be reasonably priced?

Not sure of the hours but we like Simply. We find their French products to be cheaper than buying US products at Grand Marche. We like buying brands and products that we can't find at our local market.

I like Simply. Great shopping for cooking and wines.

Information and schedules on SIMPLY MARKET:

Open from 8 am to 20h from Monday to Saturday, 8 am to 13:30 and from 16h to 19h Sunday from 8:30 to 1:30 p.m. holidays.

You might also try Super-U in Marigot at Hallowell Center.

Super U is da bomb! Great prices and selection! (I'm pretty sure it's Howell Center though.. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Smile.gif" alt="" />)

Have to add that Hope Market, to the left of Simply, does have many US brands that many of us are accustomed to, like CHARMIN!

Funny, I don't think I've ever stayed anywhere that I had to worry about buying my own TP!!! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Laugh.gif" alt="" />

Ha ha...I have Halloween on the brain. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/circle.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/jester.gif" alt="" />

And, ..I've purchased my own Charmin stash! The stuff they get cheaply from China to stock our unit isn't up to <ahem> derrière standards. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Wink.gif" alt="" />

Actually Carol, it's quite common for French rentals to supply no (or very little) TP. It's expected that you supply your own - same in France when we rented vacation houses there. An odd quirk, but you get used to it <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Wink.gif" alt="" />

Not sure of the hours, but prices and selection are much better at the Grande Marche in Cole Bay. Produce and meat selection and quality limited. Even wine prices higher.
