WE will be in St Maarten in 53 days for 2 weeks. We are staying at La Terrace this time. Can anyone tell me where to get good quality t-shirts. I bought 1 at a store on Front street for $25.00 and was very disappointed once it was washed. I looked at the ones at the Marigot market but I found those to be very thin. Also does anyone know if the person that sells magic spice still at Marigot market. That spice is amazing! Thanks for any help!

As I like to buy T-shirts that have some relation to the islands I visit, I have bought good quality ones at Guavaberry and the Aedes Aegypti mosquito shirt from the lady at the Marigot market. She's in the back near the spice man and the rum dude.

Apparently, every one on the island makes their own "proprietary" blend of magic spice, so you can buy it from virtually any stall that sells spices.

I'm not a t-shirt fanatic, but I have heard very good things about the shirts sold at the Secret Spot in the Marigot market. I think it's near the spice man, if I remember correctly. I wish more places sold v-neck tees for ladies.

Yes, Secret Spot is exactly as described and they are great! We have some from 14 years ago! They have great colors and cuts. They also have some designed for women that are V neck.

I've had excellent results from the shirts I've bought at Shipwreck over the past 20 years. Still wearing most of them, under my sport coat when I teach a class on Caribbean Tourism. The students always ask to see the entire shirt. They usually have some new designs each year.

Also, I've bought many shirts and pants from the Carihola store on Front Street in P'burg. They are bamboo fiber and they do last. My very active and athletic grandson can't wear them out and he is now 16 and still wearing the earlier ones. You can also get them on-line. Warning they aren't cheap, but worth the initial money as they last.

Really depends on the type of shirts you want to take back and show off.

LaPlaya on Orient Beach sells them. I bought one in pink and it holds up nicely after washing.

I agree on the Cariloha shirts. I wear a long sleeve white one when riding the Harley, as it keeps the sun off but is lightweight.
Hubby has a very nice navy colored one from the store on Front Street with SXM design.
Blue Bitch Bar carries a good line of shirts as well, at least the ones I've gotten were.

A couple of stalls in Marigot sell Magic Spice---get some every trip.

As to T-shirts: Penny's on Back Street P'Burg. There used to be a souvenir store near Salt Pond. If anyone here remembers the name, they now have an online business. Not the same feeling as buying on island but you can order a tell friends it came from SXM.
