There goes our trip next week, October 10th... I just hope it keeps moving more northward and less west. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/duh.gif" alt="" /> http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/gtwo.php?basin=atlc&fdays=5

NHC says only 20% chance of formation in the next 5 days. I wouldn't be cancelling any trips yet!

"Formation chance next 5 days..low..20%"...I would say "there goes our vacation" would be a bit extreme....but we will see

Looking at NOAA, it doesn't seem to be an issue.

David, chill out. No use worrying. Plan for the worst, hope for the best.
Are you flying from Boston? Jet Blue has a couple of direct flights and if you're booked on one of them they'll get you there eventually. One year we missed only a day to get on island.
Fingers crossed for you!

This post reminded me of a visit to SXM in 1986 (I think) fought snow to get to island then while eating at a place in P'Burg the restaurant had on what we thought was radio. We heard 18" snow in Boston and another 20 predicted tomorrow. We were happy to be on island and said we wouldn't worry until time to leave, hoping we'd be held in SXM.
Day before leaving we went to b'fast at that restaurant and heard: 18' snow in Boston....20 tomorrow. It wasn't radio but a tape the owner had made.
