Looking to rent a house in the outer banks in August. We would need 8 bedrooms. Two houses next to each other would work also. Any suggestions?I'm just starting research but always ask here first.
Thanks,
Ellen

I would suggest you narrow down exactly where on the Outer Banks you want to be, as there are realtors who specialize in different areas -- e.g. Corolla, Duck, Southern Shores, Kitty Hawk, Nags Head, Avon, etc. There are certainly houses of that size available for rent, but in Duck they would probably cost twice what you'd pay in Avon. So your budget will be a determining factor (especially when you consider the premium payable for oceanfront vs. a few rows back), as will how close you want to be to amenities like restaurants and shopping.

FWIW, my last two rentals were in Corolla, and we used Corolla Classic Vacations.

Like Eva says, you need to narrow down where you want to stay. The northern end ( Duck, Corolla, Southern Shores) of the OBX is more expensive than the southern end (Rodanthe, Avon, Hattaras). Some people like the convenience of being near shopping areas and others like the remoteness at the far end. Keep in mind it can be a good 30 miles or so to ride up to the stores and entertainment areas. We like being in the heart of things and always stay in Duck at an oceanfront home. There is nothing like waking up in the morning and drinking your morning coffee out on the deck while watching the dolphins jumping out at sea. Most houses offer a large amount of bedrooms and baths. We have always used Twiddy Realty and love them.
