Has there been a thread posted, or can someone give me a basic over view of the kind of auto insurance I need to secure from the rental car company (Leslie Bruce)? I will use my Discover Card which gives me "Collision Damage Waiver Coverage." Do I need to purchase liability coverage of some kind?

Liability is not included with your CC or any credit card. So if you want liability then you have to get it from the car rental people. Some have said in the past that there is possibly some umbrella coverage available, but have never been able to confirm it.
Nothing you have in the states would be of any use as none would cover any liability.

Keep in mind that even though your Discover Card provides CDW coverage if you have an accident the car rental company will require that you pay for the damage (either in in cash or by charging your credit card) BEFORE you leave the island. You'll have to file a claim with Discover Card to seek reimbursement.

Why don't you just ask Lesley Bruce since your renting from him. I would think he would know what you would need and the cost of the Liability insurance.

I am renting from Lesley Bruce in October and he quoted me $6 per day liability insurance. I am using my CC with CDW but he offers collision at $10 per day if you don't want to use your CC insurance.
